Downey Eyecare Center has a rich history of caring doctors who have served our Downey and Bellflower community for more than 58 years. That rich legacy continues on today with Dr. David Stein and Dr. Norman Wong.

Family Practice – Two Family Legacies

Downey Eyecare Center is a family practice that continues today from the original Stein Optometric, founded by Dr. David Stein’s father in 1964. Stein Optometric which was later merged with Downey Eyecare. The optometrist brothers Mike Cohen and Stan Cohen formed their own eyecare practice in 1972. The two families joined as Stein Optometric merged with the Cohens to form Downey Eyecare in 2006.

Not only is our selection of contact lenses, eyeglasses, sunglasses, sports and safety eyewear exceptional, you’ll notice the difference when you meet staff. Our doctors are passionate about eye care and enjoy working with patients. Doctors Stein and Wong take time to thoroughly understand your eye health and vision and work hard to ensure that you have the best vision possible. Our optical staff also believes that a visit to our office should be enjoyable and they make your visit friendly, relaxed, and fun.
