Our Optical Team
I’m Ivon Aguirre and I’m 20 years old. I'm a motivated person working towards a business degree while also getting hands-on experience at an optometrist office in the healthcare field. I’d say my life is all about balancing my studies and work ethic. As a business major, I’m focused on building a solid understanding of management and economics. My classes push me to think critically and strategically, which is great for my future.
Outside of school, I work at an optometrist office, where I get valuable real-world experience with both the operational side and patient interactions. I’m learning how to communicate effectively with patients , administrate tasks, and the importance of providing top-notch service in eyecare. This job really ties in with my business studies by showing me how things work in a service-driven industry. My goal is to blend my analytical skills with what I’ve learned in the field to find professional satisfaction and make a positive difference.
Natalie Jaime is a dedicated optical professional who has been part of Downey Eyecare Center since 1997, beginning her career under the Cohen family and continuing through the practice’s transition to Dr. Stein in 2006. Starting as an optical assistant, she became a dispensing optician in 1999 and has been a trusted leader in the office for more than 25 years. Natalie was promoted to office manager in 2008, where she helps oversee patient care, staff support, and the daily operations of the clinic.
A proud mother of three and grandmother of three, Natalie brings warmth and compassion to every interaction. Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, collecting coffee cups, and has loved softball since she was seven years old. Her commitment to the community, her patients, and the legacy of the practice make her an invaluable part of the Downey Eyecare family.
My name is Gabriela Cardell and I’m being in the Optical Industry since 2005. On April 2025 I started working for Dr David Stein.
As an Optical Technician, I enjoy helping patients choose eyewear that not only meets their optical needs but also complements their individual style and comfort. And I am Bilingual in Spanish as it was my first language.
My name is Raquel and I have been an optician for 13 years. I worked for Dr. Howard Stein in the past, Dr. Steins uncle. I recently took a small break from the field to start a new career as a first time mom. My husband, an optical lab technician who also has worked for Dr. Stein, has taught me a lot from the optical world but mainly to love my career. I love what I do but mainly enjoy helping patients with the gift of sight. I grew up playing sports all my life and was also a collegiate softball player. I have now hung up the bat and glove and swapped it for a fishing rod as I have picked up deep sea fishing.
